As can be inferred from the pictures posted, the Turbo version will carry the updated MT6589T chipset which has the processor clocked to 1.5GHz per core from the normal 1.2GHz. Apart from the updated core clock, the MT6589T also has support for 2GB RAM which was missing in the MT6589. All of this combined with the 32GB ROM and 13MP camera makes the phone a very strong competitor to the flagships from Karbonn, Micromax, and other domestic manufacturers. People are apprehensive going for Chinese manufacturers but the specs on offer on this phone are bound to make them think twice and most probably, change their minds. We recently learnt that UMI India has started with their deliveries of the X2, Zopo mobiles wouldn’t want to be far behind them. Both the phones, i.e., the ZP980 and the X2, have very comparable specifications, with none of them having an upper hand. The UMI X2 sports a generic design, whereas the ZP980 takes a bold and non-curvy approach in the design segment. Apart from the ZP980 32GB Turbo edition, there are two more models on offer on the Zopomobiles shop, namely the 4GB and 16GB version. However, these two versions, unlike the 32GB version, do not come with neither, the 2GB RAM nor the updated 1.5GHz MT6589 chipset. Both these models feature the normal MT6589 chipset, clocked at 1.2GHz. The 2GB RAM/32GB ROM version with MT6589T can be bought for 17,999 at the Zopomobiles shop HERE, the 1GB RAM/16GB ROM model can be bought for 15,999 INR HERE, and the 1GB RAM/4GB ROM model can be bought for 12,999 INR HERE.
